A Statue of Durga slaying Mahisha, who is in his animal form. One foot is still in the neck of the decapitated buffalo, and the other is in the mouth of Durga’s lion. Her hands carry a shield and a trident. The six-armed powerful goddess wears a mukuta on her head, a heavy necklace around her neck, carries a beaded kamarbandh and wears a heavy armlet. The sculpture portrays her laudable beauty and prowess. The attributes of this sculpture can be dated to the 9th century CE.
