Female Figurine

This exquisite terracotta figurine captures movement and intricate detailing, reflecting the artistry of early Indian sculpture. The female figure stands gracefully, her right arm raised holding a drum-shaped object, possibly an ear-lobe expander, while the left holds another item near her chest. She wears a movable bangle, a torque, a beaded hip belt, and a closely draped skirt with dramatic, wavy pleats. Her hair, parted at the center, extends low at the temples, possibly under a fitted cap. Despite some damage, the craftsmanship remains remarkable, showcasing fluid drapery and dynamic posture. This brick-red terracotta piece embodies early Indian sculptural finesse.
