Chunda

Twelve-armed Buddhist female deity Chunda is seated in lalitasana on a double lotus seat (mahambujapitha). The two main hands are in dhyana mudra, on which a bowl is placed. In her left hand, the first upper left has a lotus with the book, and the second upper left holds a serpent. The first lower left holds a kamandalu, and the second lower left holds a noose. In her right hand, the first upper right holds an akshamala, and the second lower right holds a fruit. Besides the usual ornaments, the goddess wears chains passing like Channavira between and below the breasts with a pendant in the centre. There is a Buddha in an earth-touching posture in the middle of the upper portion of the back slab.
