Message of Shri Nitish Kumar, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Bihar

“The Bihar Museum Biennale is the first-of-its-kind initiative and, fittingly so, it is being hosted by the Bihar Museum, an institution that is breaking the bounds of what it means to experience, enrich and explore the modern museum. This is a significant chance for us to begin a nation-wide dialogue on the importance of Museum Cultures today in India and in the world over. With museums from all over the nation joining in, we will facilitate not only an understanding of our own culture but also its place in the global discourse, rooting us in our identity as a culture-rich civilization.”

Message of Shri Anjani Kumar Singh, (at the time) The Chairman, Advisory Council of Bihar Museum; and (current) Director General, Bihar Museum, Patna

“The main aim of the Museum Biennale is to bring together museums from different parts of the country in the first edition, and possibly the world in the following years. Each museum within the country holds a different historical journey and retains a different personality. At the first edition of the Museum Biennale, we wish to showcase this diversity by bringing together the brilliant artefacts and masterpieces of Indian Museums on one platform and displaying them under one roof.”
